The television dramas of Pakistan are undeniably one of the best in the world, when it comes to their beautiful stories, stunning acting and amazing direction. However, parallel to that, one major area where Pakistani dramas have greatly progressed is the cinematographic part. What locations for the drama should be selected, the look and feel they would give, and their presentation are some of the central aspects that come under cinematography.
In this regard, the drama that at present has enthralled the people of people of Pakistan with its beautiful locations is Diyar-e-Dil. It is currently being aired from Hum TV, a 24-hour Pakistani entertainment TV channel based in Karachi. The major portion of this play is shot in Gilgit-Balitstan primarily in the city of Skardu, a town and capital of Skardu District in Gilgit, Pakistan.
For shooting purpose, the Shigar Fort and the Khalpu Palace are selected as locations that are amazingly presented throughout this drama. The Shigar Fort is located in the town of Shigar near Skardu, was constructed in the 1640s. Managed by Serena Hotels, it opened as a heritage hotel in 2005, following its restoration and renovation by the Aga Khan Development Network. The Khaplu Palace is located in the Khaplu town east of Skardu. This historical architect was constructed in the 1840s, and it is also managed by the Serena Hotels.
The production team of Diyar-e-Dil deserves great applause for brilliantly presenting both the Shigar Fort and the Khalpu Palace, maintaining their true essence. The way the grey-brown coloured mountains and the hanging bridge of Skardu are captured, it leaves one spell bounded feeling as if you are there watching all of them live. And it is these marvelous features that are evidence behind calling “Diyar-e-Dil: A Cinematographic Masterpiece.“
It would be wrong not to mention some of the names from the production team, which have performed a superb job in execution of this mega serial. The producer of this play Momina Duraid should be given full credit for initiating this great project, along which full marks must be given to Director Haseeb Hassan for perfectly carrying out direction of this drama. And in the end, the Art Director Mirza Zeeshan Baig, DOP Zaib Rao, Camera Operator Danish Khan, Assistant Cameraman Mansoor Baig and Editors Mahmood Mali and Araib also deserve huge applause for providing an eye-catching product to the viewers.
