Pakistan Swarovski Crystal Couturiers ’15

Pakistan Swarovski Crystal Couturiers which was held not so long ago was a marvelous event managed by the “Eleventh Retail”. But what not so many people know about the event is that it was not just another fashion show but a charity event.

PFDC approached Swarovski initially with the proposal of the charity show after which Swarovski gave away their stones to some of the Pakistani designers. Some were rejected while some were very much appreciated. We saw Fahad Hussayn, HSY, Elan, Nomi Ansari, Sara Shahid of Sublime, Saira Shakira, Seher Saigol of Libas and Maheen Kardar of Karma on the ramp. The décor was done by the very beautiful Mona while the dessert tables were organized by the amazing Shazreh Ali. All the money generated through the event was given to Care Foundation of Seema Aziz.

A total of 250 guests were invited to the event which made it even more prestigious. Mona and Shazreh did a wonderful job on the classic and impeccable décor. All the minor details were focused and a tinge of vintage effect was given to it. Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar and many other well-known personalities were seen on the event. Unlike the typical fashion runways, the ramp was two-sided while the beautifully decorated dessert table stood between them.

The selected designers played along with the allure of the crystal and all of them made notable use of the Swarovski stones; they were everywhere to be seen! HSY came up with crystal studded tiaras with different coloured outfits, Fahad Hussayn’s Dominionatrix stood out the most because of the headgears and his exclusive designs, Elan played with pastel colours in her collection, Nomi Ansari’s collection was much highlighted since he used shades of orange with black and gave a “Red Indian” touch to it. Sara Shahid of Sublime used Swarovski stones on her collection “Under the Olive tree” which comprised of olive and beige colour only. Saira Shakira’s “Once upon a time” and Maheen Kardar’s “Constellation” had shades of grey in it and minor details were focused while Seher Saigol of Libas used subtle colours. The whole event was a hit. Shows like these are more likely to be seen in Pakistan where our fashion industry collaborates with the foreign industry. The fact that it was a charity event just reinforces our faith in the fashion industry of Pakistan!
