This is a base camp for treks into the high, glacier-draped peaks called the Hispar Muztagh. Whole population of this valley is Burushaski speakers.

Ganish Village
Ganish Village is renowned for preserving its cultural heritage. It is one of the oldest settlements in the Hunza Valley, dating back over 800 years. The village has a strong connection to the Burusho people, an ethnic group indigenous to the region, and their unique culture. Ganish has been home to many tribes and caravans travelling through the village in the Hunza Valley. It is the oldest and first settlement on the ancient Silk Route, situated on the right bank of Hunza River. The settlement was also nominated twice (or thrice for UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
