What makes a couple look odd in a drama? The answer to this question is easy, the improper selection of the actors to play the role as each other’s partner. When the actors chosen do not have a chemistry, it becomes apparent in the drama as well.
It takes individuals with strong on and off-screen chemistry for the execution of a brilliant story even if the storyline is not that strong. A good on-screen chemistry among the actors can lead to them becoming fans’ favorite on-screen couples.
Here’s a list of a few Pakistani on-screen couples that did not have a good chemistry.
1. Aiman Khan and Sajid Hassan (Beqasoor)
Beqasoor’s couple Aiman Khan and Sajid Hassan tops our list of the couples with the weirdest chemistry. Aiman and Sajid played the role of a husband and wife in the drama. Due to there being a huge age gap among the actors, the public didn’t take it well. Even tho the storyline was catchy, the chemistry between the two just wasn’t there.
2. Hareem Farooq and Osman Khalid Butt (Sanam)
Next we have Hareem Farooq and Osman Khalid Butt from the drama serial ‘Sanam’. Aila and Harib’s personalities didn’t complement one another. The chemistry between the couple seemed extremely odd mainly because Hareem looked a little older than Osman. The drama failed to make a permanent appearance on-screen due to the wrong choice of pair by the casting director.
3. Armeena Khan and Humayun Saeed (Bin Roye)
Although, Bin Roye is better than any other dramas in this list, but as we are talking about the offbeat Jodis, the leading couple Armeena Khan and Humayun Saeed fall right into the list for this reason. The scenes they had together were hasty and their conversations in the serial were rather monotonous. Their lack of expressions and chemistry resulted in the audience not being able to relate to the connection they shared as a pair.
4. Saboor Ali and Salahuddin Tunio (Beqasoor)
Yes, Beqasoor takes the credit for featuring some truly strange couples! The choice of actors to play the role of a couple unmistakably shows that this couple had to be the most bizarre pairing in the history of dramas. Saboor Ali’s match with Salahuddin Tunio didn’t sit well with the viewers because of the huge age difference between the two.
5. Sana Javed and Murad Jahanzaib (Zara Yaad Kar)
Addition of Zara Yaad Kar’s pair Sana Javed and Murad Jahanzaib is inevitable for the most obvious reasons! Even though the actors performed extremely well in the drama, the storyline ruined the performance as a whole. Also, their acting as a couple just didn’t link up.
6. Zahid Ahmed and Sonia Mishal (Sangat)
Zahid Ahmed and Sonia Mishal occupy the 6th spot in our list. The pair appeared on drama serial ‘Sangat’. The serial was no doubt a crowd-puller but the plot of the drama was sickening to say the least. Sonia Mishal playing the role of Salma stuck to Zahid Ahmed aka Shahwaiz even after learning about his rape attempt. The connection between Zahid and Sonia was quite confusing and odd.
7. Yasir Nawaz and Alizeh Shah (Mera dil mera dushman)
Starring as Mairah, Alizeh Shah’s lack of chemistry with Yasir Nawaz was pretty obvious in the serial ‘Mera Dil Mera Dushman’. The two didn’t really invest in their role as a pair. Later on, Yasir Nawaz exclaimed that he faced some issues working with Alizeh Shah in an interview. Their lack of chemistry off-screen played a major role in their on-screen chemistry being odd!
