Normani Kordei is among the newer starlets to come out of the music industry, who just beams with talent and potential. A triple threat she sings, acts and dances with graceful gymnastics.
She was formally a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, but after the all the girls went their own way, her star has clearly been rising. Normani has done well with filling her performances and music videos with choreographed dancing, which is goals for us.
There is something special about her, and today we are going to review her music video ‘Motivation‘.
Motivation
The video gives us a heavy dose of nostalgia with all the 90’s and early 2000’s fashion and music style. A younger Normani is watching TV, and then dances to her superstar self who pops up on the screen.
The first look, with her in a white top and blue jeans reminds us of the ‘Crazy in Love‘ by Beyonce, and a string of other classics that involved fun in the streets and good dancing and a happy community.
Normani looks divine and we love the blue eye shadow look, and the dancing and video is basically motivation to have a hot girl summer and go to the gym.
We particularly liked the dance-off scene with Normani doing cart wheels and bouncing a basketball off her back. The cinematography was also really enjoyable as it can be hard to film dancing in a way that it pops off screen and you get to appreciate all the movement,skill and energy that goes into it.
It was fun, fresh, new alongside being the nostalgia inspired homage that it is. We would like to see more of Normani and have more videos that inspire us to hit the block and enjoy the summer sun and energy.
