After Bollywood broke into disruption following sexual harassment allegations placed by Tanushree Dutta on actor Nana Patekar, the defendant reportedly broke into laughter.
Mr Patekar was accused of sexually abusing the Tanushree Dutta on the sets of ‘Horn OK Pleassss’ in 2008, but when asked about the allegations he merely laughed.
Nana Patekar told a publication that he is considering to take legal action on Tanushree Dutta. He also claimed support from the film team present at the time. He stated, “What do you mean sexual harassment? There were 50-100 people on the set with me,” He further added, “Will see what I can do legally. It’s a waste talking (to media), you guys will play up anything.”
Nana Patekar has not only been accused of aggressive and unwelcome behavior towards Ms Dutta but also of using political connections to threaten and intimidate her.
Earlier this week, Tanushree Dutta named Nana Patekar as the actor who allegedly harassed her while filming a song sequence 10 years ago. Ms Dutta eventually had to quit the film and was replaced by Rakhi Sawant. “He was grabbing my hands and teaching me how to dance,” Ms Dutta told NDTV in an interview. She also alleged that Mr Patekar sent goons from the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS after her when she rejected his advances.
Tanushree Dutta clearly stated names of other people involved, “I want to take names – actor Nana Patekar, producer Sami Siddiqui, director Rakesh Sarang and choreographer Ganesh Acharya”.
She further revealed,”When Nana Patekar misbehaved with me, he said out loud that he would do an intimate step with me in the song, which wasn’t mentioned in my contract. It was supposed to be a solo sequence of mine. I would feel very uncomfortable when he would come next to me and try to put his arm around me.”
No other actor has commented on this issue. Amitabh Bachan bluntly refused to comment on it when asked as well.
Meanwhile, Nana Patekar has happily taken off with actresses Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hedge for the shooting of Housefull 4 as if nothing has happened.
