Majestic aerial views of Derawar Fort!

The Derawar Fort without a doubt is famous for its superb architecture, which makes it a standout attraction in the Cholistan desert. The beautiful aerial shots taken from a drone camera justifies to this fact that it still holds its grandeur despite hundreds of years.

The majestic Derawar Fort is located on the edge of the Cholistan desert, and is 100 km from Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It is the largest and the most outstandingly preserved fort of Cholistan. The historic fort rises over the surrounding partial desert, and the forty bastions of Derawar are noticeable from miles around in the Cholistan desert. The fort was built in the 9th century AD by Hindu Rajput, Bhati of Jaisalmer, and remained in the hands of the Rajput Bhati royal family of Jaisalmer until captured by the Nawabs of Bahawalpur in 1733. The area is rich in archaeological artifacts associated with Ganweriwala, a vast but as-yet-unexcavated city of the Indus Valley Civilization. The fort was initially known as Dera Rawal, and later referred to as Dera Rawar, which with the passage of time came to be pronounced Derawar.

Twisted moustache and bald head is how people recognize me, but globetrotting and capturing beauty through eye of my camera is what I am known for.
