The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority served warning notices to GEO Entertainment, ARY communications and HUM TV for airing inappropriate content which does not go with our culture and isn’t allowed. The warning that they received also said that if they violate more of the restrictions, action will be taken against them under PEMRA Laws.
In the notice, PEMRA asked for explanations from ARY communications on April 10th.
The authorities had already reviewed the response that the major TV channels had been receiving and decided that the content aired was against the “provisions of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015 as well as socio-cultural norms and values of the country”.
PEMRA also gave an additional warning to GEO Entertainment on August 7 for airing the show “Khaali Haath”.
PEMRA also revealed that action was taken against Hum Tv for the airing of the episode of May 21 of a show called “Kitni Girhein Baki Hain.”
What do you think about the action taken against this show? Do you agree or do you not? We would love to read your opinions!
