This independence day tribute by Christian artists is giving us goosebumps!

As 14th of August is coming up, a new video has emerged and is circulating around social media. In this video, Christian singers are using their melodious voices to sing us a tribute for our homeland’s Independence Day.
The video, titled Hum Sab Ka Pakistan, featured singers like Rosemary West who was a finalist in Pakistan Idol, Anita Samuel, Javed Akhter, Haris Bazmi etc. One of the singers in the video, Rosemary West, has been learning music under maestros like Sonu Nigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. They really did a beautiful job putting this together. Their astonishing talent really did touch our soul. These singers are not new however. The video includes the singer of Aas Teray Tay, Mehboob Gill. Qaiser Chohan, who sang Mein Shafi Tera, also makes a appearance and soothes us with his melodious voice. The national song mashup starts with Ye Watan Tumhara Hai, Hum Zinda Qoum hain and ends at Mera Paigham Pakistan.
The purpose of this video was to bond the two cultures together. This video goes beyond the lines to clear the differences between us and other cultures. This method of trying to unite the cultures is absolutely beautiful and we really are in love with it. Speaking of unity, there is a picture way back from 2011 which shows the Christians protecting Muslims as they offer there prayers in Cairo, Egypt.
“Unity, Faith and Discipline” – Quaid – E – Azam
Isn’t that amazing? The thing is, unity is inclusive. It liberates us and helps us to let go of divisiveness. When people unite, they don’t notice the differences between them – rather, they notice the commonality. We are all people joined in a common bond of identity within a larger whole. We cannot exclude each other, as it would be going against the circle of life. Even animals, though at a lesser degree than humans, go through this circle. I think it is high time for us Muslims to finally unite with the Christians. Steps should be taken and work should be done. We should let go of the hate in our hearts and put aside our beliefs. We should open our hearts and embrace the understanding that we are all one. Our cultures can go really far if we unite. Being united can help join our strengths to defeat those who are against us. We can spread love, peace and kindness. It’s time for Pakistan to follow the words of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and work on being an accepting country again.
As our Quaid-e-Azam said, “You are free; you are free to go to your temples. You are free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed – that has nothing to do with the business of this state.”
In the end, of course all of us have different identities. But having different identities isn’t based on separation. You can have your own identity, but you can still have love and joy for others having different identities. Cherish the people around you – not because you are supposed to, but because that is humanity.
“So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole Earth.”
