Possibly the most unsightly trends on the catwalk that set our eyes on fire

I am all for creative expression and conceptual ideas, but sometimes, fashion designers tend to take their ‘creativity’ a little too far. Here are some extremely unsightly trends that no one should ever have to see, because now I’m scarred for life and I cannot stop thinking about this man in fishnet stockings. Very gross.

Men’s Lehenga

I’m not one to assume genders and I’m not against androgyny, but these models look incredibly bizarre. The lehengas do not go with the rest of their look, and to be very fair, men can’t pull them off anyway without looking absolutely ridiculous. Guys need to stay away from lehengas, or floral skirts for that matter. Although if you really want to let your inner diva out, don’t let anyone stop you.

Dupattas

I’m not bashing men wearing dupattas altogether, some of them are actually able to pull them off somewhat gracefully, but what we see here is an absolute disaster. Mufflers are okay, so are scarves and bandanas, even if they make you look like a kidnapper sometimes, but when a girl gives you her dupatta, you stow it away as opposed to wearing it. Unless you plan on robbing a bank, you don’t need to hide your face with a dupatta, but if you’re really delicate and sensitive and can’t bear to show your manly face to the world, that’s okay too.

Tights, chooridars and fishnets

Wearing tight skinny jeans isn’t nearly as bad as wearing girly tights, chooridars and fishnets. They just end up looking weird, because your legs look like toothpicks in comparison to your upper body, since most models aren’t uniformly skinny, or buffed for that matter. I can never unsee that guy in fishnets, his legs haunt me in my dreams. I can see WAAAY too much of him, and that creepy stare doesn’t help either. If you’re hellbent on wearing tight pants, don’t skip leg day at the gym.

Business suit and turban hybrid

When you gotta fight the British at 5 but also have to attend a business meeting at 7. Jokes aside, this is a very confusing outfit, just like the godawful T-shirt and shalwar trend. Seriously, don’t do it. I wonder what designers are thinking about when they come up with outfits like this one.

I don’t even know what this is, a curtain, perhaps?

This picture is even creepier than the fishnets guy. The pose, the anklet, the clothes, or lack thereof, everything is just plain weird. Again, I can see way too much than I need to, and the supposedly seductive pose makes me cringe. That awkwardly placed hand, seriously. I am scarred for life. He seems like the kind of guy who would say, “Hey baby, let me your scantily clad jalebi.” Why am I doing this to myself?

Here’s some bizarre fashion trends that I found sufficiently cringe-inducing and even kind of funny. I’m all for weird, quirky fashion trends, but this is really pushing it too far.
