“I want to achieve all the milestones of modeling that no one ever has” says Imii, a 24 year old professional model. Imii used to be a cricketer but his career as a model started off in the most casual way possible—somebody in a passing by car rolled down the window and asked him if he wanted to be a model! Imii had already considered modeling as something he would like to do with his life, so he started to pursue that direction; a wise choice, really, because his career has brought him much fame and success. He is the first male Pakistani model working in high fashion internationally and has also recently been nominated by BAFTA as the male model of the year. Now discovering his talent for acting, his main goal is to take his career forward and do Hollywood, Bollywood or even Lollywood movies and has taken the first step towards this goal by doing a feature role in a Steven Spielberg movie that will launch in 2018.
To reach this highpoint in his career, he had to go through a lot of problems—specifically racism. Once, at the initial stages of his career, he was offered to be casted in London Fashion Week but the offer was later rescinded on grounds of him being Pakistani. He has taken heed from such incidents and worked harder in his career, rather than quitting it.
Throughout his childhood he has been a hardworking and intelligent student as he had received scholarships throughout his college and university life. He had also been passionate about sports throughout his life and never thought that he would end up in the fashion industry, as his childhood dream was to become a cricketer; which he did achieve! He has even been a goody-two-shoes and tried his best to stay away from trouble—never smoked and never been in handcuffs ‘yet’.
He values his friends and family more than anything and considers himself a mamma’s boy because his mother is everything to him. She has done so much for him throughout his life that if it wasn’t for her, he would not be where he is today. Therefore, he would ideally spend his free time relaxing at home with his family or friends, talking to his mother, rather than going out at parties. When he hangs out with his friends, he feels the most comfortable because since they’ve known him for around 20 years, they do not treat him like a model and thus, keep him grounded and motivate him to be the best version of himself. He has plenty of best friends, particularly Waleed Khan, Ahmed Khan and Fahad who have been there for him all his life and are his biggest support system.
As for his love life, I know all you ladies have been waiting for this, well he is currently single. Although he does flirt around, he genuinely fears love but considers it inevitable and hence, is on the lookout for the woman who will understand his nomadic lifestyle.
According to him, a healthy lifestyle is a necessity. He stresses upon the importance of working out and believes that in order to be a successful model you must be the whole package. The face, the body and the personality are all crucial aspects of a successful model, hence, taking care of yourself and working out every day is mandatory.
It has taken him a lot of effort and work to get to where he is now and of course he has made many mistakes but his motto is to never regret anything but to take heed from mistakes and use the lessons learned to better himself and figure out how he can better himself. He continues to work hard for his career as his bucket list for 2017 includes winning the awards, going to Miami and walking for Versace. Wish him good luck!
