Planning a trip can be so exciting that you don’t pay attention to what you put in your mouth. Well, you should be careful on what you munch on as some foods can cause minor health problems or spoil your mood. Here are a few foods that you should exclude from your diet even if they are healthy.
When Travelling By Air
Do not get anything from McDonald’s or any other fast food join. The joint at the airport might be tempting but digesting such a meal is hard enough as it is. You don’t want to trouble your digestive system at a height of 35,000 feet. Also, no carbonated beverages either. When you are flying long-distances, try to imagine yourself as an athlete preparing for a competition. You need to be at your best and carbonated beverages are an enemy against you achieving your peak.
When Travelling By Sea
First of all, no caffeine for at least 24 hours before getting on the boat or on the boat. If you’re feeling seasick, this is another reason not to drink coffee because you will suffer from a headache.
Also, greasy, heavy or acidic foods are off limits. Which means pretty much all fast food or any thing available at the airport. However, do make sure to eat something light so you have something to feel full on. Cereals are the best option.
When On The Road
Avoid eating too much fruit. Even though they are healthy, some fruits have too much water in them and if you’re not careful you can over hydrate yourself and will have to make stops every so often during your journey. Inside the car, don’t snack on foods that leave a bad smell behind, you don’t want to ruin your mood during the entire trip.
When By Foot
Avoid eating a heavy meal before you journey as your body will be busy digesting the food and not be able to concentrate on walking leaving you sluggish. Eat a bowl of vegetables or a piece of fruit to get the carbohydrates necessary in order to give you energy for the walk.
