Whether we are early birds or night owls, I think it’s safe to say that when we finally rest our heads on the pillow, we would like to go to sleep, thank you very much. Alas, that is not the case. After lying in bed for hours, contemplating on life and a series of broken vows, sleep comes to us.

Insomnia is a terrible thing and research proves that a good night’s sleep is an essential part of a healthy diet. So, Kluchit has compiled a list of potential bad guys you should avoid when it comes to getting some sleep.

1. Burgers

The stratospheric fat content of this item of fast food is definitely a sleep killer. Fat stimulates acid production, which spills into your esophagus, causing heart burn.

2. Coffee

Coffee contains high contents of caffeine which is a nerve stimulant. Translation: Too much Java, no sleep.

3. Redbull

One can of Red Bull is equivalent to 3 mugs of coffee! That’s an OVERDOSE people!!!

4. Mountain Dew

This drink contains sodium benzoate and other harmful chemicals that create acid production. Not recipes for a good night’s sleep folks!

5. Spices

Studies have proven that a high level of spice intake stops you from falling asleep. Bad news for all of us who add extra mirch masalah to their food!
