Ole Lahore is definitely a place to go to if you want a good and hefty portion-sized main course. With a long and detailed menu, Ole has a lot to offer but when it comes to the happiest meal of the day; the dessert, that is where Ole lacks the kick. The impression Ole gave with their dessert videos really made our mouth water. Their melting desire may be decent judging by the video but their Molten Lava Cake was a huge disappointment.
Visually, it was the most unappealing Molten Lava Cake we have ever seen. The cake and the ice cream had just been tossed in a quarter plate with a slight chocolate syrup drizzle; unlike what they promise in their social media posts. The flow was perfect and the portion size was seamlessly fine but it was the taste which really ticked us off!! To be honest, it felt like we were eating spoons full of sugar instead of that slightly sweet chocolate. The cake was dense, more like rubber, and specifically the chocolate lava had the taste of a very cheap powdery chocolate used. Not worth the money at all. Other restaurants are serving it using premium chocolate with a far better presentation. In short – not recommended!!
But we would like to add that they have two floors with totally different looks. If you want a posh fine dining ambiance, go to the ground floor and if you want a cozy one with huge sofas and animal skins, basement it is!
