Located on the 10th floor in the heart of Lahore, with such an exquisite ambiance; one would expect Monal to serve food of the highest quality; especially after the famous raid by PFA which got them sealed for serving expired food. Surprisingly, the management of Monal paid no heed to it and their standard is still somewhat the same. We tried their famous Pakistani Platter and I’ll be straightforward here; the food was microwaved. NOTHING was fresh. I’m talking about the Handi, Seekh Kebabs, Chicken Tikka and Biryani all having the same rubbery texture and absolutely no taste at all. Even their Peshawari Chappli Kebabs were returned as we just could not manage to cut them with a knife let alone chew them. After we complained to the manager regarding the kebabs alone, instead of giving us fresh ones, he shrugged and asked: “cancel kerdoon?” without a slightest hint of an apology.
All in all, Monal is overrated. They need to improve their standard of food and they also need to train their staff to be friendlier. Else they’ll be going from the top floor to the bottom in no time!!
