Christian Dior ‘Glowing Gardens’ Spring Makeup Collection 2016

Dior has developed a spring 2016 makeup collection with a set of harmonious color combinations inspired by the childhood villa of Christian Dior in Granville, France, and its blooming flower gardens. The “Glowing Gardens” collection is due to land soon in stores and on www.dior.com. As well as using blossoming buds of roses, irises and orchids as inspiration for this colorful collection, Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, also channels the luminous radiance of springtime. This spring’s makeup is all about creating a fresh-faced glow, with luminosity, freshness, and brightness proving the season’s watchwords for several major makeup brands. Dior is certainly putting the trend for glowing springtime skin at the heart of its new collection.

Complexions are enhanced with “Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens,” an illuminating powder with an exquisite texture that melts into the skin to give a glowing iridescent finish. It’s available in two shades: “Glowing Pink” or “Glowing Nude” (€57.50 or $58). Cheeks are lifted by “Diorblush Glowing Gardens,” a vibrant powder blush in limited-edition “Floral Pink” and “Blooming Peach” shades (€47 or $44). Eyes go bright and fresh with a sophisticated selection of floral shades. This can be seen in the collection’s centerpiece “Diorshow Colour & Contour,” a complete makeup solution for eyes. This color duo pen has an eyeshadow end for a soft color glow with an iridescent finish and a liner end for a bold flash of color. It’s available in five two-tone combinations: “Water Lily,” a pastel green shadow with a bright green liner, “Orchid,” a peach shadow with a tobacco brown liner, “Twig,” a platinum shadow with a brown liner, “Iris,” a gray shadow with a midnight blue liner, and “Hortensia,” a lilac shadow with a violet liner (€34.50 or $33).

The iconic Dior “5 Couleurs” eyeshadow palette has too been given a spring makeover with two limited edition “Glowing Gardens” selections of floral-inspired hues. “Blue Garden” matches a creamy textured blue shadow with a metallic gray, a stormy gray, a cloudy white and a sparkling coral, while “Rose Garden” puts a pretty pink in the middle of a moss green, a bright yellow, a peachy nude and a brown (€61 or $63). To complete the look, Peter Philips has developed two new shades of “Rouge Dior” lipstick in a coral-toned red and a pinky beige, plus two shades of “Rouge Dior Baume” lip treatment, with a bright pink and a soft nude pink.
