Cooking is considered to be one of the most relaxing acts. It involves preparing and cooking food, so obviously it ought to be soothing as good food can brighten even the most horrific of days. Now I’m sure everyone reading this has probably attempted making something in the kitchen once at least; even if it involves slicing an apple.
Working in the kitchen must have led to facing small battles. Especially when cutting is involved, this is the most strategic part of making food. It’s an art which has to mastered perfectly. Be it salads, soups, burgers, pizzas or pastas; you need to know how to finely chop those vegetables. Especially when the sauce for your pasta is on the stove and you need to throw in a handful of finely chopped onions into it.
Let’s face it, after the invention of the wheel, it is the kitchen tools which have made our life simpler. And thankfully, we live in a time where there is an abundance of these lifesaving inventions. These tools of convenience also help minimize our preparation times.
One of the best kitchen tools ever has to be the ‘Cooking Finger Shield’. It is very cheap to buy and extremely simple to use. All you have to do is keep it at the tip of your fingers while cutting. These finger shields come in various sizes and shapes depending on what’s comfortable for you. They are also available in various materials; ranging from stainless steel, plastic and rubber.
The cooking shields allow chopping and cutting at a faster rate. Because of its protection on the hands, there isn’t a need to cut slowly and super carefully which basically takes forever and ever. In my personal opinion, the toughest have always been the onions. It would always take about thirty minutes to finely chop them, especially considering the extra care which is required to take when chopping at full speed.
So out of all the electronic and tech savvy kitchen equipment out there, finger shields are pretty much the best of the lot. After all, there isn’t any other device which can prevent you from accidentally cutting your own fingers off in the kitchen.
