Rabia Butt – Our style diva for this month

Rabia Butt is becoming a well-known name in the Pakistani fashion industry. It takes true beauty, strength of character and perseverance to excel in the industry which adds to its ranks every coming season. Among the star studded ramps and between the glossy pages of the magazines with a multitude of excellent designers, makeup and hair artists and photographers, Rabia is emerging as the go-to model.

Born on 26^th of February, she was raised in Lahore along with her three sisters; Ayesha, Shumaim and Feeha. She received her early education in Lahore and graduated in the field of Mass Communication. According to Rabia, she was never interested in modelling. In an interview she admitted that she was more interested in leading a normal life. Something she still misses compared to the hype and glamour of the fashion world. She admits quite frankly that her career as a model actually started by accident.

To achieve a mediating harmony between her professional life and the normal life she intended to lead, she practices a very humble approach. She is humble in her achievement and respects her colleagues and her co-workers. Her down to Earth nature has made her one of the best models to work with. She started her career as a model for Maria B and since then, whether it be ramp or photoshoots, Rabia is preferred by designers and fashion personnel to work with. She has already worked with Deepak Perwani, Amir Adnan, Hassan SheheryarYasin, Karma, Chinyere, Bareeze, Gul Ahmed, Needlehole.com and many other well-known fashion designers. Rabia has already claimed two Lux Style Awards for her work in Pakistan’s fashion industry including Lux Style Award for the Best New Emerging Talent.

Rabia has already been featured in a music video titled Chal Bulleya by Meekal Hasan Band which was directed by Pakistani director Bilal Lashari (Waar). Rabia is all set to make her debut in the flourishing Pakistan film industry with her upcoming movie Hijrat alongside Shahzad Sheikh. The film will be the directorial debut of Farooq Mengal in which Rabia is featured as the lead with Shahzad Sheikh. Hijrat is a romantic flick involving a love triangle set in the portrayal of human rights issues in Pakistan. The cast of film Hijrat also includes Noman Ijaz, AzraAftab, AyubKhoso and the Moroccan actress Wiam Dhamani.

Rabia is emerging as an all-rounder with her successful representation of Pakistan internationally. Her successful photoshoots with brands like Elan and Sapphire and with an upcoming movie, Rabia is now considered a top model among the echelons of Pakistani modelling industry.
