Messy hair…out of control locks going here and there are so not in this season. It’s all about management and elegance tied into a simple knot of your hair grip. The hair trends this season combine the messy and the classy and give you two options of either making your hair into half updo’s or completely tying them in a bun.
The updo gives us the choice of leaving half the hair loose and styling them accordingly. Half updos add volume and even length to otherwise shorter hair. Most of all, the half updo keeps the hair out of your face and keeps the party going at the back of your head. If you thought there was only one way you could do a half updo, think again. The hair world is advancing everyday and there are now over a hundred and one ways to do every hairstyle. While doing an updo, you have two sections of hair to play with or bring them together in harmony.
Your hair texture matters while doing an updo. Parting your hair in a vertical section from above your forehead is one thing, parting your hair in horizontal sections at the back with minimum visibility is not easy. Make sure you brush your hair properly before parting your hair. Hold the upper parting safely in one hand, brush the lower parting of hair with the other in the lower direction so they wouldn’t get tangled with your upper section.
Once done, you can keep the height of the upper section right at the back of your head or give it some extra bump by taking it at the back of your forehead. Remember to keep using your hairbrush for keeping the hair in line.
If you have surly hair, you can simply tie your hair at the back of your head and brush the hair vigorously to give it extra volume. Once done, you can pick out some strands in front and let them fall on the side of your face. This will give you a very elegant look with the least amount of work and you will have complete control over your otherwise uncontrollable locks. You don’t necessarily have to pull all of your hair back, especially if you have flicks and they don’t go all the way back to your hair tie or clip. You can leave those flicks in the front, gather the longer sections and secure them at the back with a hair tie while leaving the lower section untouched. This is the best look for wavy hair and layers. This gives extra length and volume to your hair.
If you are looking for some half updos that you could style your hair for formal events, you can always start by back combing the upper section and hoist the section at the back of your forehead to give it some extra height. Secure the hair with bobby pins and then do some loose curls in the lower section of your hair. This updo is elegant, gives your hair volume and height and also adds a sensual look. If you are not a fan of height in your hair, take some front sections of your hair and tie them at the back of your hair. This updo is simple, classy and requires the least amount of effort. If you want to put a spin on this simple updo, simply twist the sections all the way back before tying them together at the back of your head.
One of the most populate hair trends this season is the Hun or the half bun. Simply take the upper section and tie it into a pony in a hair tie. On the last turn, instead of passing your whole hair through, only pass half the length through the tie. This would be like a half pony and you will get the half cool updo of the Huns. You can simply pull the hair through even and twist it around the tie and secure it with bobby pins to make a half bun which passes as a semi-formal hair style and you can wear it with any outfit.
For all the guys out there who have been growing their hair for a while, on their heads and their faces, we can agree that there is nothing sexier than the man bun this season. It’s not feministic or awkward nowadays. Men are rocking the bun more than the ladies and they have every right to get a few ideas as to how to diversify their style and own a new look. The man bun keeps the hair out of the face and at the same time manages to give a sexy yet dignified look. The man bun trend has caught on so much that it is much more acceptable at formal events than open hair or short hairstyles. So if you have long hair this season, just take a hair tie and twist your hair really tight until they curl into a bun and secure it with the tie.
The elegance or ruggedness of your man bun is dependent upon your overall haircut, the height you tie your hair at and what style of bun you choose to make. If you have curly hair and a little messy look, you can make do by simply gathering your hair in a pony, pass it twice on a hair tie and on the third, leave half of it in the tie. This ties the hair at the back of your head, leaving a half undone impression. You can also leave the locks in the front out of your bun and let them hang loose around your face while you twist the hair tightly into a close bun and secure it with a hair tie.
Remember, the length of your hair will play an important part determining the size of your bun. If your hair is not that long, you will have to suffice with a pony-like tiny man bun. Doing an updo, you have to leave the lower section of your partitioned hair but while doing a man bun, you can leave the upper section of the partitioned hair alone and make a bun from the lower section. You can leave the upper section as it is or you can style it with a little dollop of hair gel and set it in an interesting beach hair look. You can also elevate the man bun to a new height by gathering all your hair atop your head and make it into a bun before tying it up. To go for a more gypsy kind of a man bun, make your hair into a bun and once it’s secured; loose the bun by pulling lightly on the hair from the base of the bun and then pulling out a few strands of hair loose from the bun. Or you can go with the Ariana Grande version of the man bun by taking a section from the crown of your head and making into a tight little man bun atop your head and let rest of your hair loose and free.
