FPW’15 – DAY 3

The last day of the fashion week happens to be the best one every year as the energy levels are always higher than the first two days. Day three this year was equally exciting. The red carpet was hosted by Zhalay, who was wearing a Wardha Saleem outfit. The line-up for day three comprised of Nilofer Shahid, Umar Sayeed, Zaheer Abbas, Faraz Manan, Nida Tapal, Zainab Chottani and Nauman Arfeen.

The show started with Mahira’s entrance on the ramp in Umar Sayeed’s creation followed by Adeel Hussain and Sheheryar Munawar. Umar Sayeed’s name alone invokes images embellished in kaleidoscopic colors, alongside royal fabrics like chiffon and silk.

Next up was Zaheer Abbas who was cheered by the entire crowd when he hugged his mother who was sitting in the front row.

‘Gullon may rang bharnay baad-e-naubahar chalay

Chalay bhi aao kay gulshan ka kaarobar chalay’

Zaheer’s collection ‘Baad-e-Naubahar’ was inspired by Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s poetry. Each garment was a display of art and his use of floral patterns was beautiful. With a color pallet of rich tones and light accents, the collection featured intricate details of thread, nakshi and gota.

Delphi by Nida Tapal was the third show of the night. Their collection was called ‘Dream Weave’ which featured crochet details and traditional zardozi crafts. It had traditional structures and eastern-western silhouettes.

After the break it was Zainab Chottani’s turn. Her collection ‘Dilruba’ was very traditional but it did not really impress the audience. It had the same old ghaagra cholis and intricate work details.

The audience was very excited about the Faraz Manan show. His collection was called ‘Imperial AW 2015’ and it was styled very distinctively. As always, he used luxe fabrics like French silk, brocades and velvets which were embellished by complex hand work and embroideries. The collection was loved by the audience.

The second last show for the night was by Nauman Arfeen. With Abbas Jafri’s comeback came drama and royalty. His collection was a display of royal Mughals, and it featured several white and pink accents. Elephant was one motif which was seen on almost all his garments. Team Kluchit loved the use of threads with intricate details.

Last but never the least was none other than one of the reasons Fashion has this place in our country. Yes, we are talking about Nilofer Shahid. Before we mention anything about the collection, we would like to give a big shout out to Fareeha of Catwalk Productions for choreography which left us all dazed. The collection itself was more art than fashion. Nilofer’s inspiration was her obsession with the great artist Rembrandt and each garment of her collection reflected his paintings. Beautiful indeed.
