Fashion Pakistan Council always comes up with great ways to display Pakistani art and fashion. FPW’15 winter festive was the 7th fashion week organized by the new council. The much awaited event started on the 28th of November at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Karachi and ended on the 30th. Every single one of the three days was unique in its own way and the audience was overwhelmed with the creativity and versatility on display.
Day one started off with super-high energies. The red carpet was hosted by the beautiful Nausheen Shah who wore a Shehla Chatoor creation from the same day’s show. Several super trendy frow-ers were spotted at the red carpet. This year the media partner for the event was Urdu 1 for the very first time. Day one featured many of our favorite designers like Shehla Chatoor, Sana Safinaz, Tena Durrani, the Toni and Guy show featuring Gulabo and Sania Maskatiya.
The show started with the royal “All the Rajj” collection by none other than Shehla Chatoor. Her collection was a display of vintage royalty with some European elements. The silhouettes and embellishments from the collection were a combination of dreamy classicism of the vintage Raj costumes and European culture. The in-house hand-crafted shoes and the jewelry collection totally stole the show. Team Kluchit absolutely loved the use of fur with the bridal ensembles. The beautiful Ayesha Omar walked the ramp for Shehla as well.
Next up was the Toni and Guy hair show. The clothing was done by our all-time favorite Sania Maskatiya and Gulabo. Several celebrities like Saira Shahroz, Imran Abbas and Sarwat Gilani walked for Saeeda Mandviwalla’s hair show.
The third show for the night was AFH who showcased her collection ‘Ellada’. Ellada was inspired by Greece. It was an incorporation of Greek landmarks with contemporary silhouettes which gave an ‘old meets new’ kind of a feel.
We were impatient for the break to end because the second half had two of our favorite designers. First up, Tena showcased her collection ‘Omorose’ which was an inspiration from the Renaissance. Her bridal collection had soft and creamy color palettes which looked very appealing.
Before Sana Safinaz’s collection was showcased, there was one last young new face, Hisham Malik. His collection ‘eternal’ was an inspiration from a poem by Alexander Pope. Eternal visually narrated the poem ‘Eloisa to Abelard’ through flames and flowers.
Finally, last but not the least, it was time for the Sana Safinaz show. The best was truly saved for the last. Their collection was the epitome of luxury pret with beautiful use of thread work, spangle techniques and jewels. As usual, the entire collection was extremely sophisticated.
