Bargain Basement Sale – 2015

The Fundraisers are set to host their annual and much anticipated Bargain Basement Sale (BBS), #fundraisersBBS, in Lahore on Sunday, 15^th November 2015, from 12 PM – 6 PM at The Nishat Hotel. This year’s annual sale brings together around 100 of the most coveted Pakistani fashion and lifestyle brands, including some international brands, all of whom have generously donated items to be sold at the #BBS at heavily discounted prices. Clothing items range from high end couture, bridals, semi-formal, to pret a porter pieces, and the sale also features beautiful jewelry pieces, art, furniture and home accessories. The purpose of the sale is to raise funds for various charities and causes which are doing good work and need help in raising funds. This year, #fundraisersBBS will be donating all monies raised from the sale to the following four charities: (a) Pink Ribbon Pakistan for breast cancer; (b) RS (Rising Stars) Foundation for schools in Swat and Uch Sharif; (c) Bali Memorial Trust for earthquake relief and old people’s homes and (d) Chitral Emergency Relief. The event is being kindly sponsored by Guard Filters, The Nishat Hotel, Lotus PR and YS Design.

Last year, #fundraisersBBS raised PKR 2.6 Million for charity and this year they are looking to raise even more funds to help those in need. The Fundraisers Co-Founder, Nuria Rafique-Iqbal explains that “The Fundraisers was founded in 2005 and is made up of a committed team of over 35 volunteers who want to give back to society. Our Bargain Basement Sale is an innovative concept to counteract donor fatigue – we believe it puts the ‘fun’ back into fundraising and allows people to enjoy themselves while raising money for charity at the same time. In addition, our event creates a platform for the fashion industry to build their corporate social responsibility and reduce wastage. We are now looking to build on our success by taking the #fundraisersBBS to other cities like Karachi and Islamabad, and more importantly, taking it online with an e-commerce store where people can buy donated designer items at discount prices with the purchaser being able to decide which cause they would like to support with their purchase. The online version of #fundraisersBBS will also have an exclusive ‘Vintage’ section where hardly worn designer items and old bridal trousseau pieces can be purchased for charity.”

If the long list of designers and brands is not enough to bring the shoppers in, #fundraisersBBS will also be adding some star power to the event with some celebrity guest appearances throughout the day – Pakistan’s loved morning show host Juggun Kazim and “Jawani Phir Nahi Ani” star actor Ahmed Ali Butt are amongst the celebrities who will be supporting the event by picking out the lucky winners of the raffle prizes which include a weekend night stay at The Nishat Hotel, a 27” flat screen TV by Powerhouse, a fashion photo shoot by Shuaib Rana Photography, a make-up makeover by Luscious CEO Meherbano Sethi, cushion covers by White by Mehar, spa vouchers from Arammish, Splitends, Boudoir Lounge, Amina Raja, Blowdry Bar, dinner vouchers from restaurants Tokyo, Jazz Cafe, The Pantry, Polo Lounge, Lahore Social, Café Upstairs, Pancake Lounge, cinema tickets at Imperial Cinemas, cakes by Out of The Box, a 6 week fitness session at The 42 Day Challenge and Daewoo tickets.
