Eiffel Tower
Without a doubt, the Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris. Whenever someone mentions the city, it is the first thing that comes to our minds. It is the tallest building in Paris and it offers incredible views across the city. There are three different levels that can be ascended on in the tower. The first two both have restaurants and they can be accessed via the stairs or the elevator. The third level, which is also the highest, is only accessible via the elevator. The tickets for the first two floors cost €15 per person for adults, and if you want to go right to the top floor, a ticket for one person will cost you €24.
Notre Dame Cathedral
Your trip to Paris is incomplete without a visit to this wonder of gothic architecture, dating back to the 12th century. One of the most beautiful cathedrals of Europe, Notre Dame Cathedral’s dramatic towers, stained glass and statuary are all guaranteed to take your breath away. As Notre Dame is a church, entry is free, but if you want to visit any of its towers a ticket costs €7.50.
Musee d’Orsay
One of the world’s most-visited museums, the Musée d’Orsay has the largest collection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects produced between 1848 and 1914. It showcases many of the most remarkable works of the early modern era giving visitors a detailed and breathtaking look at the birth of modern painting, sculpture, design, and even photography. The museum is located in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood, between Quai Anatole-France and Rue de Lille, and faces the left bank of the Seine River.
The Louvre
Probably the most important and well known museum in the world, the Louvre is a must see for art lovers and for all visitors to Paris. It was established as a museum in 1793 and has since then built up an incredible collection of fine art from all over the world, including some of the world’s most important and ancient pieces, the most famous being Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.
Tickets to the main permanent collections cost €10 per person, special temporary exhibitions cost €11 and a combined ticket costs €14. The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe
Possibly the most famous road in the world, the Champs Elysées is a picturesque tree-lined avenue which runs from the Arc de Triomphe towards the Louvre. It is an incredibly romantic place and a real symbol of Paris and France. The Arc de Triomphe is a stunning war monument which was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to honor his great victories.
