Peer-e-Kamil

Peer-e-Kamil translates to “The Perfect Mentor” One of the greatest novel written by Umera Ahmed. It’s a spiritual religion based novel. No matter how many times you read this novel, you’ll always feel like you’re reading it for the first time. The story is astounding with strong characters. The entire story revolves around two characters, Salaar and Imama, both with different Islamic backgrounds. Imama is a college girl, studying medicine. Her family belongs to Ahmedi sect, however later on she starts questioning her beliefs and started going towards the path of Islam. This is the time when her journey begins towards deep love of ALLAH and his Prophet (PBUH) with a lot of sufferings and hardships on her way. On the other hand,  Salaar is totally opposite.  He belongs to Islamic sect, but he is completely ungrateful of his blessings. He is extremely liberal and doesn’t believe in Islam. The growth for both the characters throughout the story is unnerving. Umera Ahmed has literally exceeded her remarkable writing skills in this novel.

Jannat K Pattay

This novel holds a special piece in our hearts. Masterpiece novel written by Nimra Ahmed. Jannat k Pattay is romantic, adventurous yet full of mystery and suspense. Every dialogue is written remarkably and the storyline is astonishing. The story starts with the focusing on the main character “Haya” and her journey to embracing true Islamic path, through which she faces many challenges and hurdles. She refused to take off her hijab even though she faces the criticism from her friends and family. She is dominating and a strong character. Later story also focuses on other main character “Cihan Sikandar”. Jahan Sikandar is  a heartthrob. He has an alluring personality that will stick to readers mind for a long time. The two main characters are linked by childhood ‘nikah’, a marriage bond so strong that it plays a major part in the plot.  Jannat kay pattay addresses several issues of Asian/ Pakistani society that is bound by cultural complexities. The story has so many mysteries that it will keep you guessing every minute.

Humsafar

Farhat Ishtiaq is a Pakistani writer, author and screenwriter. She is a specialist when it comes to romance novels. She portrays love in an artistic way and that is evident in Humsafar. It is a social romantic and formal novel written on about the relationship between a husband and wife.Ishtiaq explains that just love is not enough for a strong bond. Confidence and trust are also vital in strengthening that bond. While the couple in the story are separated, they tolerate each for the sake of their daughter when she becomes sick.

Darbar-e-Dill 

Another masterpiece by Umera Ahmed. This novel is the story of transformation of one’s soul. Unlike the change of betterment in this story transformation is gone from good to bad. It tells us how one simple act which others find amusing can ruin life for someone. A beautifully written novel, the story revolves around “Mehr” who is a religious girl and “Murad” who is a rebellious westernized boy and how one serious mistake lead to the separation of two lovers and in the process ruined their lives.
