As a viewer in this pandemic we are always looking for some light weighted comedy and ingenious humor to giggle on, different from all the negative typical dramas. We bring you a list of all the comedy dramas that will keep you away from all the negativity and saas bahu nonsense.

Suno Chanda

Suno chanda is a record breaking Ramadan romantic comedy series, it instantly became a hit. This show was loved and appreciated by not only Pakistani audience but all over the world. Starring Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed, the fans fell in love with the duo and the undeniable chemistry on screen between them. But apart from the leads, it is actually the supporting characters that made the drama what it is!

Kis Ki Ayegi Baraat

Kis ki Ayegi Baraat is a Pakistani comedy series with 4 seasons,  Azar  ki Ayegi Baraat, Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat, Takay  ki Ayegi Baraat and Annie ki Ayegi Baraat.

It’s based on marriage ceremonies between two families with totally different backgrounds one is Punjabi family from Faislabad, the other an Urdu speaking from Karachi. The friendly feud between them makes the drama a total comedy hit. The role of fashion designer ‘Saima Chaudry’ played by Bushra Ansari is iconic!

 

Chupke Chupke

Chupke Chupke is a Ramadan comedy series, released recently this year. Chupke Chupke was a worldwide hit. It became a remarking hit with a total of 100 million views. Emotions, comedy, entertainment and romance, this drama is a complete package for you. The  storyline is about two family rivalries, one Dada Jaan who has two wives, both the wives are living in a partitioned home and both of them try to keep their grand children away from each other but despite this still the children have a very fun special bond. Bubbly girl ‘Meenu’ played by Ayeza Khan and sophisticated ‘Faazi’ played by Osman Khalid Butt who also happens to be Meenu’s teacher have a love hate relationship and end up getting married by their families. The cast is amazing and the storyline is a comedy hit. Do give it a watch!

Ishq Jalebi

Another Ramadan series released in 2021, Ishq Jalebi is an underrated drama series. It’s a romantic comedy, a love story. The drama managed to fulfill all the right boxes when it comes to cast, script and implementation. The drama is a countersign of cousin marriage, but marriage is not only the theme of this drama which makes it a hit. This drama is extremely relatable due to the storyline of  joint family and how a father has a complicated relationship with his three sons who moved to US and are only interested in his wealth, Many parents can related to this.

Shehnai

Shehnai is an underrated romantic comedy drama that is a treat for the viewers. Joint family system, forced marriages and dispute over property are issues portrayed in fun comic way. The main characters ‘Bakht’ played  by Ramsha khan and ‘Meerab’ played by Affan Waheed nail their roles. Both the character are forced by their families to get engaged but both of them love other people and the story unfolds after their forced engagement. It’s a great story loved by fans which however is getting dragged a bit now, but definitely worth a watch.

 

Aangan

Aangan is a comedy family Pakistani drama, realeased back in 2017. A storyline of traditional joint family but it is different from how our industry potrays joint family system these days. It has humour, fun and sweetness, with some true hilarious moments. But the story also touches a lot of serious society topics. Aangan really teaches us how despite overwhelming difficulties, only love can hold the family together. It’s a brilliant drama loved by fans. A fun drama that also teaches us a lot of valuable lessons makes it worth a watch.

Prem Gali

We love both romantic and comedy series, but when we put both the genre together that makes it a total hit. Prem Gali is a rom com series, An adorable love story  between the two neighbors, aired in 2020. It’s a typical comedy drama but the characters makes it more interesting, the female lead characters challenges the narrative around marriages and divorce also it breaks the stereotype of  what society says about parenthood and how a failing marriage can be save d by having a child. Such meaningful topic with a light hearted comedy makes this drama beloved.

Bulbulay

Bulbulay is loved by many of us. It’s a Pakistani sitcom.  The four main characters, Momo, Khoobsurat, Nabeel and Mehmood sahib, every character has its own fun element. Each episode has a different story, but basically it’s a storyline of less intelligent family trying to survive their ignorance in this world. It’s a successful show with high ratings.  The one-liners are hilarious.

Qudussi Sahab Ki Bewah

A total fun comedy packed drama, Qudussi Sahab Ki Bewah is a Pakistani comedy drama premiered in 2012. It’s about two families, a tenant and a landlord living upstairs and downstairs in an old house. A must watch drama for all the comedy lovers out there.  The realistic portrayal of events that lower class faces  in this society, the drama has a unique story line. The landlord lives with his family but likes to hit on his neighbors daughters and he is a flirt. The tenant is a widower Shakooran Begum, Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah lives with her three daughter and constantly keep an eye on her daughters because they are obsessed with boys. It’s a brilliantly scripted drama and fans loved it. This drama will leave you in fits of laughter.
