Imran Ashraf : A Legend In The Making

Imran Ashraf : A Legend In The Making

Imran Ashraf is a Pakistani actor, who has been acting in television dramas for the last ten years. The young actor has gained societal respect and critical acclaim with several of his latest dramas like, Ranja Ranja Kardi and Alif Allah aur Insan.

What makes him unique from the pool of contemporary actors in his hard work, dedication and excellent acting.  He has a knack for picking different roles and characters, allowing him to always give something new to audiences.

Imran recently had an interview with the BBC Asian Network. We loved how his personality shown through the interview, and we are going to discuss what makes him a national treasure and a talented gift to the world.

Happy with creating change

Imran Ashraf shared that since playing a mentally challenged person in ‘Ranja Ranja Kardi’ he’s received thousands of calls. Calls from mothers and families of those children, he’s happy that he was able to shed light on this issue and pleased that God chose him for this.

He stated that society’s whole attitude and changed and that we need to take care, accept and love these ‘vulnerable souls‘.

Such a likeable guy, along with being an amazing actor.

Imran vs Vanity

In the interview the host asked Imran how he deals with the vanity in the industry. Which is true, most of our leads our exceptionally beautiful or unique looking, and males generally haven’t been getting agreeable roles in contemporary dramas.

He insisted that ‘Looks don’t matter, character does‘.

He even made light of the sense that people don’t describe the role of a hero as anything outside of a hero. When he got leads roles, and asked about the character, the response was just ‘ Hero’.

He questioned, ‘What is a hero? – Hero is also a character‘.

He went on say that ‘I’m doing art, for that I don’t need a six packs, deep eyes or good hair’.

Isn’t that the attitude we should have?

People Laughed But he Stayed Strong

The host asked he was afraid that people would laugh at him for picking the roles that he did.

Imran answered shrugging ‘People laughed at me for ten years, but that is  fine‘. It’s a success story that we haven’t seen in a long time.

He went on say that people discouraged him a lot in the beginning, to the point of calling him a ‘minus supporting actor’. But look at where he is now, everyone loves and respects him.

He is blessed with talent and is the kind of actor that should be globally famous, and be given opportunities wherever he wants to work.

I want to see him in movies, dramas and anything else.

It’s just refreshing to see someone truly humble and artistic in otherwise vain and commercial times.
