Pakistan probably hasn’t had a scandal as big as Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar’s which is probably the reason it just doesn’t die down. The case is back in the news with a new twist yet again. We are all aware of the case between Meesha and Ali so we’ll just get to what is going on with this currently.
Here is what has happened:
Hassan Khan Niazi, who fought and won Khadija Siddiqui’s case, revealed that he is being threatened by singer Meesha Shafi with a #MeToo movement against him because he is investigating where Meesha and her lawyer Nighat Dad are (allegedly) getting international funding from. And that they are using #MeToo movements and false tweets from naive girls to grab foreign funding and that threats cannot scare him from exposing them more.
He stated, “Meesha team hits new low. Sending me threats of #MeToo campaign against me,” he wrote. “Typical Ayesha Gulalai mindset in community, which damages the #MeToo campaign for their personal point scoring. Let me make it clear,blackmail me and I will expose u more.”
On the other hand, “Don’t think I’ve ever met this guy and neither am I accusing him of anything,” she tweeted. “Although he did inbox me for a retweet last year. Don’t remember if I responded. Do remember that I didn’t retweet.” She also added, “Also, by all means all are free to investigate whatever interests them, only to discover a bottomless pit of groped bottoms. All other conspiracy theories are just that.”
New Twist
In a recent interview of Nighat Dad by cfr.org, Meesha Shafi’s lawyer claimed that it was her who helped Khadija Siddiqui with her case when she was stabbed by an ex. She claimed in the interview that Khadija came to her asking for help on how to use the internet to spread her word regarding her case.
However, Khadija Siddiqui wrote on her Facebook that it was ONLY Barrister Hassan Niazi who was responsible was strategy and execution of her social media and media campaign.
When word went viral that Nighat Dad is taking credit for something she had nothing to do with, Twitter had a ball. People are now raising questions regarding Nighat Dad and how she manipulated things in her favor with blatant lies. It makes them think she could be lying about Meesha Shafi’s allegations too for her personal gains as the other party is saying.
The interview had been taken off and has now been changed completely.
