Saif Ali Khan still angry about being harassed 25 years ago

The #MeToo movement after Hollywood, has left Bollywood in a frenzy with ladies telling coming out with their stories everyday. Saif Ali Khan too revealed that he was harassed 25 years ago- but not sexually.

“I have also been harassed in my career, not sexually, but I have been harassed 25 years ago and I am still angry about it,” he stated. “Most people don’t understand other people. It is very difficult to understand other people’s pain. I don’t want to talk about it because I am not important today. Even when I think about what happened with me I still get angry. Today, we have to look after women,” he added.

He feels that the offenders must be punished if they are found guilty. He stated that people are getting offended and want justice and is glad that women are finally speaking up.

Saif’s Netflix original series is in a peril since sexual harassment allegations against the writer, Varun Grover along with producer and filmmaker, Vikas Bahl of Phantom Films came to light.

To this he stated that, “You are removing someone (from the job) and it is a big deal. You are removing a person, but everybody has worked on a project so you have to balance things. People who have sexually harassed and abused women should pay for it.”

Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta- his co-stars from Humshakals also opened up about its director’s (Sajid Khan) rude behavior towards women. Where Bipasha stated that she was disturbed with Sajid’s attitude towards women, Esha revealed that she got into a lot of arguments with him. Not only the two actresses but 3 other female actresses and a journalist has also come forward regarding Sajid’s misconduct.

However, Saif Ali Khan stated that he doesn’t recall anything happening on the sets of Hum Shakal. “I don’t remember anything like this happening genuinely because if it would have happened I would not have been comfortable in that environment or allowed it to happen in front of me.I would hate an atmosphere where women are being looked down upon or mistreated in any way. I don’t think that’s how an atmosphere should be,” he said.

Saif has joined the list of Bollywood men who have refused to work with sexual offenders. He stated that he won’t work with them because their attitude is disgusting.

“We all need to have the same attitude. I don’t want to work with them. We have to understand that how these people are behaving, it is not okay, it is disgusting.”
