So looks like anyone related to the Kardashians in any way cannot stay away from controversy. But then, it would be unfair to blame the Kardashian because Kim’s husband, Kanye West has had enough facepalm moments himself.
This time, Kanye West decided that he now wants to formally me called ‘Ye’ instead of Kanye. He took to twitter to announce this change.
“The being formally (sic) known as Kanye West. I am Ye.” he tweeted.
Ye has been West’s nickname for a long time along with Pablo and Yeezy. Kanye…or should we say Ye, has also updated his name on Twitter and Instagram so we believe he is pretty serious about this drastic change.
The change came before his appearance on Saturday Night Live, where he was supposed to launch his new album Yandhi.
Ye stated that the his new name also has a religious significance for him. While discussing his album title released in June 2018 which also had the name ‘Ye’, he told radio host Big Boy, “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means ‘you’,”
He further said, “So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything. The album is more of a reflection of who we are.”
So people, Ye it is!
