Tanushree Dutta reveals Nana Patekar harassed her 10 years ago

Former Miss India and Bollywood actor Tanushree Dutta revealed that she was harrassed by Nana Patekar. She stated that it happened while shooting on the sets of 2009 film ‘Horn OK Pleasssss’

Tanushree reported that industry insiders knew about it but chose to stay quiet. Also, she alleged that the veteran actor has been quite disrespectful towards women on the sets of films.

“Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them. His behavior with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it,” she said.

Tanushree spoke about how people believed that he must have done so because of her glamorous roles. However these gossips never surfaced because of PR well done by their publicists.

Tanushree is best known for her role in Aashiq Banaya Apne

“Behind the back, they are so dirty. When you are in the industry you hear so many stories about these actors. But these things never take surface because they are PR packaged very well. They will give some money to some poor farmers. How much they do and how much they don’t, no one knows. But all this is just for show.”

Tanushree had earlier said she was abused by an unnamed actor on the sets of Horn OK Please. “I was probably one of the first people in the history of this country in the media field to speak up and stand up. Everybody saw what happened but the memory and the popular perception of it is that Tanushree Dutta spoke up against harassment and then she was no more,” she said. Tanushree gave a detailed account of how the male actor had forced himself into a ‘solo’ dance sequence, touched her inappropriately and even demanded an intimate scene be retroactively added to the film. Tanushree had to eventually drop out of the dance number.

As per a 2008 Times of India report, Tanushree lodged a complaint with Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) for damage to her property and reputation. But when she brought up the matter of Nana Patekar’s misbehavior, she was replaced by Rakhi Sawant in the movie.

She believes that the #MeeToo movement will never arrive in India because of the industry’s hypocrisy.
