The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) and Topaz Group of Companies in collaboration with Chefs Association of Pakistan (CAP) organized the Pakistan International Culinary Festival (PICF) 2018 on the 9th, 10 and 11th March at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
The purpose of the event was to engage reputed, international chefs from all across the globe, who did live cooking of several local and international cuisines. There were also different culinary competitions held, through which the chefs exhibited their skills and expertise.
The food presented by the chefs matched all our expectations and remained the highlight of the event. Our taste buds still cannot get over their Chicken Malai Boti, Fried Fish and Mutton Tawa Chops. The Malai Boti was perfectly tender with the right amount of spices. The fish made us go back for second and third fillings while Mutton Tawa Chops were a party in our mouths. The Nutella-Rerrero Rocher brownies also stood out in desserts with the right amount of crunch from Ferrero Rocher and silky texture from the Nutella. Some other things among above mentioned were; Chicken Steak with White Sauce, Fried Rice, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Daal Mash, Mashed Potatoes with Salted Vegetables, Seekh Kebabs, variety of pastas and assorted pastries.
Commenting on the occasion, CEO of COTHM, Ahmad Shafiq said, “The key objective of this festival is to promote food, culture and heritage of Pakistan and develop and project a soft image of Pakistan internationally.”
The event is endorsed by World Association of Chefs Societies WACS – Global authority on food. Along with restaurant stalls, musical entertainment and seminars on culinary, hospitality and tourism trends there would be various activities to keep the whole family happy.
