Game of Thrones – The Pakistani Version

Here’s our politicians as Game of Thrones characters down to a T. You’re free to disagree, but I’m pretty sure all these characters could totally be long lost fraternal twins of their political counterparts.

Nawaz Sharif as the Mad King

When the Mad King realised he’d lose the city to Robert Baratheon and Tywin Lannister, he had his pyromancer lace the undergrounds of King’s Landing with wildfire, a liquid which is flammable and explosive, as a backup plan. In short, he would rather kill 500,000 innocent inhabitants of King’s Landing along with the rebel forces, rather than giving up his throne. Thankfully, he is stopped by Jaime Lannister before he can execute his plan. Nawaz Sharif and the Mad King could be twins, (Well, flaternal twins) since Nawaz will do absolutely anything to keep his ‘kursi.’ He’s been dragged through the mud, and for good reason, yet he refuses to resign. He’s on the verge of being arrested and he still hasn’t fled the country. Now that’s dedication, demented dedication, but dedication nonetheless.

Baby Nawaz as Cersei Lannister

They both act like victims but they’re clearly not. They both look relatively harmless, but they’re REALLY not. Cersei has a bunch of dirty laundry that she needs to hide from the general public, and she will do anything to avoid having her personal business out in the open. She wants to be at par with her father and brother in political affairs, but she’s always brushed aside due to her gender. i could point out the similarities forever and ever, but there’s no denying that they’re definitely there. Maryam Nawaz has a few skeletons in the closet, and she wants to be at the political front with her father, but her gender kinda gets in the way. It’s been proven that she’s the trustee of all the illicit money that her family has stolen from the ghareeb awam, but she refuses to take any responsibility for it and dodges questions like Neo from the Matrix dodges bullets.

Sheikh Rasheed as Tyrion Lannister

Sheikh Rasheed has been an advisor, and a good one, but once he realised no one cared, he decided to act on his own. Tyrion Lannister was a great King’s Hand, and he did his best, but he realised that none of it mattered because everyone he knew was out to betray him, including his own father. Tyrion Lannister has been a fan favourite for a while now, because he’s tactful but also considerate, which is rare for a game of thrones character. Sheikh Rasheed is awam’s favourtite Pindi boy because of his badassery and no fucks given attitude. Need I say more?

Zardari as Petyr Baelish

Pyter Baelish is a tactician who’s playing all the sides against each other, without making anyone suspicious. He’s an evil mastermind who only serves his own interests, and he’s ridiculously good at manipulating people. Zardari managed to complete his tenure with minimal issues, and he got away with whatever accusations were levied against him, unlike the Sharif family. he’s the guy you go to when you need political advice, and I’m sure that’s what everyone does. Like Petyr Baelish, he gets along with everyone and he is great at manipulating people.

Imran Khan as Robb Stark

After his father’s death, Robb Stark was hailed as the King in the North. Several houses rushed to pledge their allegiance to him, and he had a relatively large army. He made the colossal mistake of marrying someone out of an alliance, and that led to his death. My point is, there was a lot of brouhaha surrounding Robb Stark, and everyone thought he would be the new king, but he ended up getting murdered along with the rest of his family. I feel like Imran Khan will have the same fate (minus the murdered family). Everyone thinks hes’s going to be the next leader, but he’s been around for a while now and nothing’s happened so far. He’s been raising Dharnas all over the country, but nothing’s changed. What he doesn’t realize is that our ‘awaam’ has a generally low IQ, and they refuse to consider options aside from the ones they already have. They’ll keep voting for Nawaz and Zardari just because they’re familiar, no one cares about how much money they’ve stolen or if their degrees are legit. This will lead to Imran Khan’s fall, and he’ll eventually have to give up on politics.
