So breathing shoes are a thing now, apparently. I’d probably wear them if they didn’t look like the ugliest thing on earth. I’ve seen a lot of people getting into breathing shoes lately, but most of them don’t even know what they’re made for. They’re made for people with excessively sweaty feet, to curb the heinous odour that emanates from their shoes once they take them off. However, in a ridiculously hot country like Pakistan, they seem like a necessity for people who prefer closed shoes (why someone would prefer closed shoes in this heat is beyond me though).
These shoes work by improving air circulation around your feet, thus drying up sweat and reducing gross feet smell strong enough to suffocate someone within a close proximity. So if you’ve got excessively sweaty feet, or if you’re required to wear covered shoes for work, breathable shoes seem like a good option. However, for the rest of us, they’re kinda useless, since we can get away with wearing sandals, plus they’re not really worth the high price point unless you’ve got serious foot issues. Lastly, they’re not readily available everywhere in Pakistan, so I don’t really understand what all the hype is about. The nearly ridiculous price also means that not everyone can afford it, so it’s targeting a niche audience with this product.
