Masarrat Misbah conducted a bloggers meet-up at Lahore social in which she told about the effects of whitening creams. She informed about such creams in the market which include toxic metals like mercury that penetrate into the skin and over time its higher accumulation in the body damages the heart. They also affect health of a fetus in case the woman applying such creams is pregnant. She pointed out that women, must educate themselves on these creams before using them. Ms Misbah said that she came to know about these harmful creams some years ago when she saw their side-effects on faces of some girls getting treatment for burn injuries and that’s why she wanted to start a campaign to aware the people.
