The rise in the Islamophobia phenomenon and of course, the less-than-flattering portrayal of Pakistan in the media has engendered negative views about the average Pakistani citizen; so much so that it is becoming more and more difficult for a Pakistani to secure a travel visa to countries like the United Kingdom and America. But rest assured, there are still places we can visit without too much of a hassle, and some of them are listed below.
Vatican City
Also known as the Holy See, Vatican City is the smallest country in the world, and has no border patrols, and no customs and immigrations at the points of entry. This is hard to believe, but had it not been for the fact that you had to go through Italy to get here, this would be the ideal spot to travel to. After entering Italy, you can literally waltz right in
2. Maldives
Situated around 300 miles off the southwest coast of India, this little paradise of a place issues free 30-day visas on arrival to anyone who has a passport, any proof of further travel, and funds to cover boarding expenditures at a local hotel or resort. Talk about lax policies!
3. Micronesia
It is said that if the visa process was as straightforward as that in Micronesia, most of us would have traversed a large part of the globe by now. Citizens from practically anywhere only have to put forward their FSM Immigration Arrival and Departure Record (given by the airline) to stay for 30 days or less. Being a Pakistani, you’ll be granted a 60-day visa on staying for more than 30 days.
4. Madagascar
With a popular children’s cartoon movie to its name as well, the island of Madagascar hosts truly unique species of plants and animals that cannot be found anywhere else (much like Australia). Visas will be issued to all citizens from anywhere in the world as long as you have a passport that is valid for the next six months, and that passport has a blank page.
5. Kosovo
This country gained independence fairly recently, in 2008. Take advantage of the early development phase of the visa processes – anyone visiting for 90 days or less will be given a visa upon arrival. If you want to stay longer, you will have to contact the Directorate for Migration and Foreigners in Pristinia.
6. Samoa
Located in the South Pacific, the islands of Samoa have the most gorgeous waterfalls and the marine life is quite extraordinary. On arriving here, you’ll be granted a 60-day visa without any prior application process needed. Extending the stay will require a Temporary Resident Permit though, but we hope you can wrap your work up in two months, which is sufficient time.
Why settle for boring America and England when there is a whole cornucopia of cultures and places to explore out there? The biggest perk is the ease of getting there, so take advantage of it all while you can
