Bank Alfalah has created a podium known as the BAL Risign start, It has been initiated so that emerging designers can be a part of an incredible experience to showcase their creativity and get recognition at a larger platform. This year around at the PLBW’16, A lot of extraordinary silhouettes were used, Along with bold and bright colours which gave the feel of the young blood at the PFDC Loreal Paris Bridal Week.
The collection initiated with the colour palette of pinks and peaches. The style detailing consisted of frills, embroideries and embellishments. Evening gloves were paired with a couple of dresses. The dresses where beauty meets fashion was showcased did have good cuts which showed the skills of the designer Amna naeem. On the contrary the designs were not that promising as the lady like feel transformed into a teenage Taylor swift dream. The heavy embellishments kept screaming out loud ‘exaggeration’. The silhouettes in comparison to talents that have been observed previously were standard. The line depicted repetition that has been done over the years.
Followed by the pink dress theme was an ecstatic theme with the hues of bright blue and whites. Comparatively the dresses were much more pleasing, soothing minimal detailing and a clear display of experimental silhouettes paired with decent jewellery pieces. The theme by Mariam Amjad was experimental yet did not give a hint of practicality one bit. The hues of blue did sooth the eyes but also spoke for its self through a basic gradient all the way. Let’s not miss out on the jelly fish dress since that one left every one startled. It must have had a great importance but then what was PFDC thinking when they picked out talent?
Nevertheless the third talented designer was Sara Naqvi, her collection was a safe play keeping in mind the rest of the theme of the event she played with traditional bridals. The bridals consisted of a very subtle shade of red to subside with tones traditional greens. The collection consisted of customary embellishments. The collection was a safe play but then the silhouettes were not experimented much with.
Every year good talent Is displayed and so is it this year. Next time a bit more exploration for talent should be done. The flaws and personal interest can be kept out of with the entire focus for the skill set this young creative blood presents. Overall the collection did show young blood and was satisfying to a balanced extend.
