Eid is round the corner again we all know what that means. It’s time for meat galore! As much as we love eating, we highly recommend all things in moderation. You may be tempted to believe that there is no such thing as “too much protein” but on the contrary, studies have proven that eating too much meat can be detrimental to your health. We know it’s delicious but still…
Consuming more meat than your body requires can lead to several health problems, like stress on your kidneys, heart problem as well as leading to excess body fat and weight gains. Even though Eid-ul-Adha comes once a year and we tell ourselves to enjoy it while we can, one should never forget that too much, too suddenly, is very harmful.
There are several reasons why we believe it is prudent to control your meat intake, the first being that your body only utilizes a certain amount. The rest is processed into sugar which is then converted into fat. And who needs extra body fat?
Granted, your body does require protein. This does not mean we cut down on it all together but we need to merely control the amount we consume, especially as there is a limit to how much our body actually uses. As much as the endless appetizing meat dishes tempt your taste buds this Eid, Kluchit advises you to hold that serving spoon and think twice about what you’re putting in your plate!
So go easy on the Eid Gosht and live your Eid to the fullest!
