Delhi, the capital of India has always been compared with Lahore whether its lifestyle or the similarity between the cultures. People do say that the fashion is quite similar between both the cities but the only distant thing is the border in between. Various Muslims are scattered in the India, as Eid is on its way different trends are seen into fashion these days. In Lahore, due to extremely hot days and the summer being at its peak, the designers are focusing on lawn dresses.
Speaking about the main fashion differences across the borders, the designers in India mainly stress upon sarees, different sarees like embroidered sarees, net sarees and so on, whereas a saree as an Eid outfit is a big ‘NO NO’ in Lahore. The first and foremost focus for designers in Lahore is that to bring variations in the designs whereas in Delhi, the designers work to bring variation in their collection line.
Fashion in India for this Eid is varying from long knee-length kurtis with flared net plain lehngas and culottes with motive bead work to give it a formal touch. Whereas in Lahore long and short kurtis are trending mainly of lawn and cotton stuff with light tilla and bead work. The shoes which are commonly trending in both the cities from pointed pumps to platform heels to flats everything is in.
For haute couture, we have Ali Xeeshan, Elan, and Fahad Hussayn to rock bridals and formals but India has got some great designers too, some of which include Sabya Sachi Mukherjee, Manish Arora and Manish Malhotra. All these designers are known for their creativity and how they blend their culture with the newest trends.
Despite the border differences, the fashion prevailing in both the cities is very similar to a huge extent, although some minor differences are always evident.
