Everyone knows Islamabad to be this small quiet city where one can find every place easily, right? Wrong. There are many restaurants and cafes which are somewhat hidden to the eyes and taste buds of food lovers. Such is the case of Kohsar Market.
Kohsar market is in the inner streets of the F-6 sector and it is hard to stumble upon it by coincidence. Even though it is among the oldest markets in the city, the crowd knowing about it is rather limited due to its secluded location.
The restaurants and cafes located here can best be described with one word – Chic. The air that blows along these cafes screams only one thing – Fashion. The crowd is always stylish, with some of the biggest fashion icons in the country like actors and singers sipping their drinks, who enlighten the whole environment with their iconic presence. Groups of young guys and girls come here just to hang out and enjoy the weather by sitting outside either eating a nice meal or casually enjoying a latte. Another major aspect which adds to the whole stylish aroma of this place are all the exotic cars you see coming and going while you are enjoying your meal. That is the real eye candy this place has to offer. So basically, one thing is for sure, which is that you cannot help but feel cooler while in the Kohsar Market.
All right, let’s not get carried away here, what are we really after? The food. It happens very seldom that you find every spec and detail to your liking when you go out to eat. Well, that’s exactly what happens within this market. Every place here has an indoor and outdoor seating area so whether you want to enjoy your meal in the quiet indoors, or among the happening crowd outside, you’re in luck.
And don’t even worry about your mood, whatever it is you feel like eating, it’s there. Day or night, this place never sleeps.
The ‘Mocca’ cafe has a unique menu specially suited to those who are conscious towards the healthy eating lifestyle with a detox and low carb menu comprising of sandwiches as well as brunch platters.
The ‘Street 1’ restaurant, perhaps the most famous among the locals, is an ideal place which combines taste, quantity and a variety of cuisines to one’s liking. The breakfast and brunch menu is available at certain hours but is definitely worth trying out.
And for all you bookworms out there, the ‘Book Bistro’ is a sharp looking cafe with tons of books on the shelves from which you can pick out anything to read while you enjoy your meal or coffee with a beautiful view of the outside environment through the glass windows.
How can we forget about all the coffeeholics out there? Well, don’t worry, each of these places has excellent coffee and if you just wanna chill, Gloria Jean’s is there for the win.
So whoever you are or whatever you’re after, if you’re in Islamabad, you’ll find it here.
