Tired of scrubbing away at the gunk in your microwave? These hacks will definitely make cleaning your microwave a mere cinch and won’t involve a lot of vigorous scrubbing either.
Vinegar and water:
1) Pour one cup of vinegar and one cup of hot water in a two cup measuring jug.
2) Place the measuring cup in the microwave, set your timer for approximately 10 minutes and turn it on.
3) After 5-10 minutes, remove the measuring cup from the microwave carefully using oven mitts.
4) Wipe away all the grime with a damp cloth or paper towels.
5) If you’re worried about the water boiling over, add a wooden spoon to the measuring cup to keep things steady.
The steam from this concoction will soften the tough stains and residue, thus allowing you to wipe it away with ease. It is also all natural, which means you won’t be putting in all sorts of odd chemicals which might potentially end up diffusing into the food you heat.
Microwave disinfectant/polisher:
This handy solution requires just one ingredient: rubbing alcohol. Pour some in a spray bottle and spray your microwave inside and out. Your microwave will literally gleam once you wipe it off. It is also a great disinfectant and will not leave behind a scent due to its evaporative nature. You can use it on other appliances and even counter tops, just make sure everything is turned off and disconnected from the power supply.
