It is that time of the year when teddy bears and heart shaped balloons can be seen everywhere and the scent of roses wafts through the air. People like to express their feelings to their loved ones in different ways, and you should too. Here are a few gift ideas for you to use on Valentine’s Day, and whether you are a foodie or not, we are sure you and partner both will definitely like them.
Customized chocolates:
Turn plain, old chocolate bars into romantic pieces of art with customized labels. Get a few labels printed, or paint/draw them yourself for extra thoughtfulness, and paste them onto the chocolates to give them a signature touch. You could even print out pictures or quotes, the options are endless. It’s a simple idea but it’ll make a huge impact.
DIY cake:
Yes, it’s clichéd, but hear me out. You could bake a cake and decorate it yourself, or you could get a death by chocolate cake from the bakery (we won’t tell) and prettify that instead. Be creative and use whatever you want; marzipan flowers/shapes, fondant figurines, jelly beans, candies. Using a store bought cake will make the decorations stand out. Bake your loved ones a batch of heart shaped cookies. If you’re feeling lazy, get a box of store bought heart shaped cookies and unleash your creativity with some homemade royal icing. Make them extra special by stenciling on names or short phrases. The packaging is the key; line a clear box with tulle or lace and use cute cupcake liners for the cookies, wrap in a festive ribbon and voila!
