Baking powder:
2 tbsp cream of tarter + 1 tbsp baking soda + 1 tbsp corn starch.
Eggs:
1 – 1/4 cup of vegetable oil can be substituted for one egg only. (Don’t try this method for more than one egg. It will make the cake more oily and greasy.)
2 – 2 tbsp water + 1 tbsp oil (vegetable or corn oil) + 2 tbsp baking powder. Use this in place of one egg.
Butter milk:
Use one cup of plain yogurt instead of one cup of butter milk.
Cream:
Use 1/3 cup butter + 2/3 cup milk instead of 1 cup plain milk cream.
Sugar:
Instead of one cup of sugar you can use 1/4 cup of honey + 1/4 cup of flour.
Honey:
Use 1/4 cup of sugar + 1/4 cup of liquid instead of one cup of honey.
Unsweetened chocolate:
Instead of one oz of unsweetened chocolate use 4 tbsp cocoa powder + 1 tbsp butter.
Cream of tarter:
For 1 oz of cream of tarter use 2 tsp vinegar or lemon juice.
Butter:
For 1 cup butter you can use 7/8 cup vegetable oil + 1/2 tsp salt.
Cream:
Cream can be replaced with evaporated skim milk.
Corn syrup:
For one cup corn syrup you can use one cup sugar + 1/4 cup water.
Yogurt:
Instead of one cup plain yogurt you can use one cup sour milk or 1 cup butter milk.
Cream cheese:
The replacement of one cup cream cheese can be one cup plain yogurt, strained overnight.
Self-rising flour:
For one cup self rising flour you can use 7/8 cup all purpose flour + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/2 tsp salt.
Gelatin:
One tbsp gelatin can be replaced by 2 tsp agar sugar.
