Chand Sitara

Chand Sitara was an event sponsored by Pepsi Pakistan and hosted by JB n Jaws. It was held yesterday at LUMS and was a resounding success. After the launch of Pepsi’s latest campaign, “Chamke Humse Pakistan”, Pepsi arranged a musical evening at Lums and brought together the legends of Pakistani music, including all the members of Vital Signs and Junoon.

Salman Ahmed started the event with the National Anthem and then shared his success story with the crowd. He said that he started his career with the following thoughts “aisee zameen aur aasmaan, inkay siwa jaana kahan”. He told us how he then shared this verse with Shoaib Mansoor and then with Junaid Jamshed, after which Vital Signs came into being. Later on, he sang “junoon se, aur ishq se, milti hai azaadi” for the crowd.

Farhad Humayun (also read: “I am a hundred million people throughout the day” – Farhad Humayun) also made an appearance and shared his views about the event. He lauded Pepsi’s involvement in Pakistani music and then called Shahi Saeed (the drummer of vital signs) on the stage as well.

The main purpose of the event was to inform the target audience, i.e. the youth, about the marketing campaign by Pepsi.

Saad Ali (Formula 1 driver) then came on the stage to share his own success story with the audience. He said the support of his family was the main reason behind his success. He also shared a few challenges that he had to face in his life and how he overcame them. Zeeshan Abbasi (fastest blind bowler of Pakistan) was also invited on to the stage, who then shared his story which was followed by a huge round of applause.

Then, it was Gohar’s turn to address the audience. He told us that Junaid Jamshed was the one who requested him to sing a Vital Signs song. He said he was very proud to be standing next to all the legends and to be singing along with them.

Junaid Jamshed then came to put an end to the event with his amazing performance. He sang “Dil Dil Pakistan” and “Hum hain Pakistani hum to jeeteingay”.
