Pakistan Sunsilk Fashion Week ‘15 – DAY 3

The 8th PFDC event, Pakistan Sunsilk Fashion Week, day three presented all the Voile shows which focused on the fashion for the summer and the scorching heat that it brings along. The designers who showcased yesterday were Gul Ahmed, Shubinak, WARDA Prints, Alkaram Studio, Harmony and House of Ittehad. Indeed every designer pretty much explained how to look fabulous even in these long summer months.

Gul Ahmed:  The Voile show on day 3 of Pakistan Sunsilk Fashion Week was opened by Gul Ahmed which is one of our leading textile brands with their collection “A Flourishing Journey of Prints”. Unique embroidery, bell bottoms, kimonos, gloriously flowing silhouettes, edgy cuts, and bold cuts were some of the key trends that the collection followed. Bright colours were used while the fabric comprised of chiffon, silks, net, lawn and cotton.

Shubinak: Gul Ahmed was followed by Shubinak who displayed their collection “Pakistan United”. The collection consisted of pure Pakistani cotton, recycled cotton bags, boyfriend jeans, kimonos, waist coats, camouflage, patterns of jacquard’s reforestation, natural and dyed earthy colour tones, hand embroidery, crocheting, applique, Ralli, stone carving and above all PATRIOTISM. Loved the way they United Pakistan.

WARDA PRINTS: The next was WARDA Prints who showcased their collection, “Chromatic Ecstasy”. A wide range of colours were used including reds, oranges, yellows and blues. Heroic patterns were modeled of Warda with different prints which took us back to the Mediaeval Era. Beautiful eastern drapery, motifs, silks, net, chiffons, organzas, colour tones of hot pink, grey, blues, olive, blended prints, bohemian edges, floral prints brocade glamour and cigarette pants is what it was all about.

Alkaram Studio: Alkaram’s collection, “Savoire Vivre” which was a mixture of east and west both, was next. It consisted of blended print with ethics and floral motifs which were positioned on a variety of fabrics from lawn, jacquard to chicken curry. A varied colour palette with cut work, laces, contemporary silhouette made the collection very intriguing. And not to forget how amazingly Mustafa Zahid of Roxen walked as the celebrity showstopper.

Harmony:  After the dazzling showcase by Alkaram, Harmony showcased it’s Spring/Summer’15 collection “Summer Rhythm” inspired by nature. The collection played with summery colours in heels of blue, reds and yellows. Floral patterns were everywhere to be seen. The collection was defined in silks, chiffons, gold sequins and black and white silk fabric. Outfits showcased were for both men and women. Key trends followed were skirts, short tops, silk veils etc. Totally Urban, Chic and Classy.

House of Ittehad:  The finale of the day three was showcased by one of the leading textile brands, the House of Ittehad with their collection, “The Summer Rouge” designed by our leading designer HSY. The collection was inspired by varied cultures with a mixture of ethnicities from all around the world. The collection displayed geometric and floral prints with stylish cuts blended with embellishments which were all based in vibrant colours with a little mixture of pastels and earthy tones. House of Ittehad also show cased their men’s collection i.e. I-Man. Those floral Umbrella’s made the whole collection look absolutely beautiful.
