Republic by Omar Farooq- PIA Style show

Everybody felt PIA needed some major renovations. We are gladly announcing what you might call the major trend affair of 2015. Yes it’s about the huge PIA style show which was held on March 16th in Karachi. Where fifteen major modern day designers, designed what they thought PIA’s crew should be wearing. The show featured Maheen Khan, Shamaeel Ansari, Sonia Battla, Omar Farooq of Republic, Nida Azwar, Fahad Hussayn, Maheen Karim, Amir and Huma Adnan, Nomi Ansari, Ismail Farid, Misha Lakhani, Sania Maskatiya, Yasmeen sheikh, Khaadi by Shamoon Sultan, Ali Xeeshan and Hsy.

The brilliant show came to an end with the most exciting news of new uniforms for stewardesses by our very favourite Nomi Ansari, first stewards by one of the best men’s wear designer Omar Farooq, caps by gorgeous Sania Maskatiya and coat by the very talented Yasmeen sheikh.

We are letting you know how much we love Omar Farooq for devoting his life on what might be a ‘not so touched field’ in Pakistan. Yes we’re talking about menswear. Omar makes us change our perceptions. He shows by his excellent style sense and brilliant cuts how men can be uber sophisticated while being super trendy. So without disappointing us for any second that is exactly what he did for the PIA show. On the show he had the opportunity to show the working men of the country that there was a world out of the boring black / grey three piece suit. And he showed how you can look professional yet modern at the same time. About the collection Omar said on a public forum that his inspiration was to adequate the structured men with masculine corporate colors which mostly were  blues, blacks, browns and greys for the suits and red to burgundy for ties, Where as some were very plain while others were striped. In the capsule collection we saw a blue trench coat with a matching tuxedo followed by a white dress shirt, blue pit Blazers with peak lapels and buttons. Tuxedos without collar lapels were seen too. The golden broaches on each coat/ jacket added a trendy twist to the formal wear. Matching pants were barely seen, that gave a very nice accent to the dark colours. Over all every minor detail that was given to each garment was appreciated.

It’s funny how menswear happens to be very comfortable all the time and we know how sad and unfortunate you feel for the times in life where you need to wear a blazer but we are sure Republic by Omar Farooq will change your opinion on that.
